FY 2019 DNA Capacity Enhancement for Backlog Reduction (CEBR) Program (Formula)

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Laboratory (SMCSO-FL) services approximately thirty law enforcement and law enforcement related agencies in the County of San Mateo and its surrounding areas. The SMCSO-FL’s goals for this project are: 1) reduce the casework turnaround times and reduce the backlog; 2) support continuing education. To achieve these goals, the laboratory proposes the purchase of DNA testing supplies, the funding of overtime for technical and administrative review of DNA cases, the purchase of two robotic instruments, and fund analysts' attendance at scientific conferences.
