The Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Forensic Services, will reduce the number of backlogged DNA cases, reduce turnaround time, and increase productivity per forensic analyst with funds from this award. The BFS will fund overtime for analysts to screen and analyze DNA cases, purchase supplies for DNA analysis, and upgrade or replace existing equipment. By increasing the capacity of the laboratory, the turnaround time and number of backlogged cases should be decreased.
