FY 2019 DNA Capacity Enhancement for Backlog Reduction (CEBR) Program (Formula)

The Orange County Crime Laboratory (OCCL) is proposing to use funds from this award to achieve three main goals: 1) To reduce the backlog of unanalyzed forensic DNA cases by analyzing DNA cases using grant funded overtime; 2) to provide DNA Advisory Board (DAB) required continuing education training to fifteen DNA analysts; 3) to replace one aging and to purchase one additional 7500 Real-Time PCR systems (each with two year service contracts) ; and 4) to purchase 5 new GMID-X client licenses for our validated genetic analysis software.
