Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $142,275)
The Wyoming State Crime Laboratory (WSCL) is the only accredited forensic laboratory in the state. Funds from the FY19 Coverdell grants program will be used to address the increase in drug submissions for the Chemistry and Toxicology sections, the expansion of Toxicology for drug analysis, and addressing the increasing backlog and turnaround time for these submissions. In order to achieve these needs, the funds will be used for consumable supplies for opioid/opiate analysis.
