The purpose of this grant is to outsource backlogged Sexual Assault Kits (SAK) for analysis.
The Prince George's County population of 950,000 continues to see a relatively high crime rate, second only to Baltimore in the state of Maryland. Violent crimes against persons have increased substantially over the last two years. Our need for this type of financial assistance continues due to staffing and financial difficulties facing our Department. The needs of investigators and prosecutors keep our demand for service high.
