For the past five years Gary Sheridan has led the development and implementation of a comprehensive criminal investigative training and technical assistance program in Colombia, which in 2007 trained 15,000 Colombian police, prosecutors, and forensic experts in a broad curriculum of criminal investigation and forensic subjects. His efforts have been highlighted by the implementation of the Sexual Assault Investigation Initiative and the creation of the "Elite Group of Sexual Assault Investigators," known by its Spanish initials as GEDES. Gary Sheridan is a retired special agent and supervisor from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
