Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $84,858)
Indiana University will develop an iris software plug-in to estimate the accuracy of iris preprocessing and then automatically select portions of the iris with the most feature characteristics to measure extractable feature information. The benefit of this biometrics tool is an improvement in matching by essentially allowing multiple returns on poor images to aid in providing a mate. The development and evaluation of this iris recognition effort could lead to the adoption into practice of new tools and technologies for use by local law enforcement agencies.
