This project will expand the research based work program using a commercially available non-toxic, aerosol drug detection and identification system for marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine, with the pilot schools to extend the range of aerosol applications for drug prevention, as well as to begin integrating these uses into drug prevention policies and programs. The project also plans to expand the drug detection aerosol technology into non-educational environments. This includes, drug courts, law enforcement, US Customs, institution & community corrections, and the Meth Alliance project. Mistral will also investigate a high volume mail scanning method using micro drilling and high volume urine drug testing sampling in a correction environment. Product technology development will include a test kit for analysis of meth lab clean up and a single aerosol which can identify all the above drugs.
